Telehealth has received significant attention since COVID-19 escalated into a global pandemic. Providers in nearly all specialties have had to quickly evolve from in-person appointments to virtual care to comply with social distancing guidelines. But telehealth itself was already on an upward trajectory for more forward-thinking provider organizations, especially in behavioral health, where access is a particularly challenging issue. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has accelerated this transition immensely.
